Las pistas son magníficas, con un buen desnivel, pero se necesita nieve. Si no hay suficiente, la estación de esquí se vuelve rápidamente limitada y solo apta para principiantes e intermedios.

Castle Mountain Resort es una joya escondida en el sur de Alberta. Mis dos hijos aprendieron a hacer snowboard aquí, progresando sin problemas desde el telesilla Verde (solo para principiantes) hasta los telesillas Huckleberry y Azul (nivel intermedio), y finalmente el telesilla Rojo (nivel avanzado). En resumen, hay opciones para todos los gustos, y si no las encuentras, algo estás haciendo mal. Las mejores bajadas que he hecho (y he practicado snowboard en todo el oeste de Canadá) han sido desde el telesilla Rojo después de una buena nevada. Castle Mountain tiene fama de ser un lugar con altibajos, pero la incorporación del telesilla Huckleberry hace algunas temporadas le dio a la montaña una ladera mucho más fiable, con pistas bien preparadas incluso en las condiciones más modestas. Además, la historia de Castle Mountain es una historia de perseverancia: la comunidad no da nada por sentado. Es un lugar especial y todos conocen el secreto. Como no es un megaresort, la infraestructura es un poco más tradicional. Pero cualquier tiempo que se pierda en la velocidad de los remontes se compensa con la ausencia general de colas. El carácter independiente de la montaña se refleja también en sus precios, muy razonables en una época en la que los deportes alpinos se están volviendo prohibitivos. En definitiva, recomiendo encarecidamente Castle Mountain Resort a cualquier amante del esquí o el snowboard: este lugar se convertirá en su paraíso.

An off the beaten track gem. We found it with great snow which helped our impression but worth seeking out.

This resort has come along way in trying to provide a great product for every skier. It has had a long reputation amongst expert skiers as having some of the best powder and off piste terrain anywhere. During a recent cat skiing trip in the BC interior the group I was riding with were raving afterwards about it being their best powder day ever but I had to advise that it didn't come close to the epic days we get every year at Castle. You do however need to pay your dues at Castle because the rugged terrain and wind conditions can leave the top of the mountain very challenging at times. With the addition of intermediate terrain on Haig mountain , a new snow making system and great grooming, the mountain is much friendlier to intermediate and beginner skiers than it once was.

To lazy to actually do there jobs to busy always yelling janitors can’t sweep or mop floors washrooms are always a mess do not not take your family there if you have kids only nice staff in the lodge is the door hosts

We drive 13 hours from the prairies out to the Rockies a couple times a year. I've been to most of the big name resorts in western Canada and Castle is by far my favorite. Epic when it dumps, and fun gromers off huckleberry when it hasn't.

Castle is a hidden gem. Be transported back in time to a place that still holds the spirit of skiing. A place you can pull up and camp in the parking lot. A place that never has a line. A place you can ski 3000 ft of fall line and never see another person. Catch it on a pow day or with some good wind buff and have your mind blown. The skiing is full on and rugged. Great for strong skiers. And the T Bar provides for a cozy place to grab a pitcher and some nachos with your buds. Oh and no cell service, it is wonderful.

skied here last year , missed some good powder days because of lift problems , could only ski lower part of mountain on these days. first day i had out this season had one ride on upper mountain, then that lift broke down for the day. Seemed like the same kind of problem that lift was shut down late in the last season. Makes me wonder if they do any maintenance in the off season. I was going to stay for 2 days but was told that it would be shut down for a couple of days. Then i talked with a friend who had went that next day and the lift was running . so its hit and miss for skiing the best part of the mountain. its not worth the money skiing the lower mountain early season .

I've been here about 3 times so far. I really emjoy it. I had some friends visit and I took them here rather then sunshine and this is how I discouver it! I highly recommend to anyone! Mountain to your self
